How to Tell If You’re Spending Too Much on Grass-Fed Beef

If you’ve been shopping for high-quality, 100% grass-fed and finished beef, you’ve probably noticed that prices vary widely. Some cuts can seem surprisingly cheap, while others carry a premium price tag. So how do you know if you're spending too much?
We recently conducted a deep dive into our pricing and made some adjustments. While we always strive to keep our products affordable, we realized that we were actually charging too little for many of our cuts.
Why We Adjusted Our Prices
We based our new prices on an official USDA Market Report (see it here), which tracks national and regional prices for grass-fed beef. After comparing our pricing with industry benchmarks, it became clear that we weren’t just below the market average—we were significantly undercharging.
Selling high-quality, pasture-raised beef at unsustainable prices wasn’t just hurting our business; it also meant we weren’t properly valuing the hard work, ethical practices, and superior nutrition that go into raising 100% grass-fed and finished beef.
Are You Overpaying for Grass-Fed Beef?
Here’s the good news: Even after our price adjustments, our beef is still well below the national average for grass-fed meat.
Many large retailers and online marketplaces sell similar products for 30-50% more than our updated prices. Some customers assume that higher prices mean better quality, but that’s not always the case. When you buy from us, you’re getting premium beef directly from the source—without the unnecessary markup.
Our Commitment to Fair Pricing
We believe that healthy, ethically raised meat should be accessible. That’s why we’re committed to keeping our pricing fair, transparent, and aligned with the market—without overcharging.
